


Mold Market
A traditional market town nestling beneath the Clwydian Hills. There has been a street market in Mold since medieval times, receiving it's Royal Charter in 1732, today it is still the biggest and the best market in North Wales and the Borderlands.Street markets are held in Mold every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year with stalls on the High Street and through to Daniel Owen Square.
Here, you'll also find a thriving indoor market open Monday to Saturday with a wide variety of stalls. You can find everything you need and more.
Mold now hosts a Sunday, monthly food, drink and artisan market running from March to the end of October. Situated on the Daniel Owen Square, you'll find some of the regions finest food producers and crafters, there is also live entertainment and a classical vehicle meet.
There is history and architecture to appreciate on every corner, from the stunning parish church of St Mary's, Welsh fundamentalist chapels and Bailey Hill. The remains of the Motte and Bailey Castle is a reminder of the town's ancient past, first documented in 1146, it probably dates to the early years of the Norman conquest. The towns museum holds a replica of the Bronze Age 'Mold Gold Cape', which is the largest piece of pre-historic goldwork found in Britain. The original being one of the top 10 attractions in the British Museum. Here you'll also find tribute to Daniel Owen, the acclaimed Welsh author, who is considered by many to be the Welsh Charles Dickens.
A large programme of events throughout the year keeps the town busy, from the Christmas Market, Carnival, food, drink and music festivals, summer holiday activities, Disney & Marvel character visits and celebration of special occasions, such as the recent D-Day and VE-Day. Market aside, Mold boasts a large array of independent retailers, coffee houses and bars, all you need for a great day out!
